Madhavan became the chocolate hero and ruled the hearts of many women when Mani Ratnam introduced him in Alai Paayudhe. The Minnale hero still is the much favored star for many and he continues to straddle Bollywood and Kollywood with ease. He was last seen in the Tamil film Vettai directed by Lingusamy.

Recently the actor has decided to spread his wings to Hollywood too by signing on for Simon West's 3D reboot of the 1968 horror movie, Night of the Living Dead. The movie is about a group of survivors fighting to stay alive when a mysterious plague unleashes the undead on New York City.

While expressing happiness on signing this film Maddy says, "It's a great introduction to American Cinema, working with Simon West. He's made and continues to make some of the most exciting and thrilling films out of Hollywood. I am honored to be working alongside him. I am also thrilled to be in this 3D re-imagining of the cult-classic Night of The Living Dead."
