With Vishwaroopam releasing on 10^th January in DTH and on 11^th in theaters, many films are likely to follow the trend. It is also heard that the producers of Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan too, are looking to release their film in DTH.

The film will also employ Auro 3D 11.1 surround sound, as suggested by Kamal Haasan. This action-fantasy directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth is being made on a huge budget using performance capture technology. Considering the fact that Tamil Nadu has less number of screens with 3D projection facilities, it is said that releasing the film in DTH would be favourable for the producers of Kochadaiyaan in earning that extra revenue.
