Alaipayuthey girl is no more!

Former TV presenter turned actor Sophiya Haque recently passed away after losing a battle to cancer. Sophiya Haque might best be remembered by the Tamil audience for her vivacious dancing for ‘September Madham’ in Mani Ratnam’s Alaipayuthey.

Since her popular TV stint, Sophiya went on to become a notable screen actor. Apart from being a great dancer she was a talented singer as well and thereby winning herself a role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s  Bombay Dreams which had music by A.R. Rahman.

Her colleagues in London, where she was presently residing, and her friends from Bollywood had mourned her passing.
