Art Director Shashidhar Adapa is a content man these days after being given the opportunity to present his skills for Mani Ratnam in Kadal. The award winning craftsman, who also extended his services for Aamir Khan’s Talaash, spoke of his enjoyable experience working with Mani Ratnam. He said that the director helped him cross his own imaginative boundaries with his support and suggestions.

He revealed that they had erected a 120 x 60 ft church in Manappad with specific detailing to give a periodic effect to the structure. He also recalled with amazement how Mani Ratnam shot a song in just 45 minutes with the help of 6 cameras. Apparently the performance was well rehearsed keeping in time of the song, and Adapa feels that anyone else would have taken atleast 4 days to shoot that sequence.
