The long standing feud has had its effect on FEFSI. There have been dissenting voices for quite a while now. Today it took a really serious turn when the Drivers’ Union decided to dissociate itself from FEFSI. In a more serious move, a section of the Dancers’ Union too expressed their resentment over some of the decisions of FEFSI. This resulted in a face off between the two factions which resulted in a few tense moments. Following this, a few FEFSI members locked the office of the Dancers’ Union and left with the keys. It was said that they later planned to meet the labor minister Chellapandian to brief him about the issue.
In another set of events that is a big blow to FEFSI, a few Tamil films began their shoot today in spite of the call for a complete strike by FEFSI. The shooting has been held with the crews from the newly formed union, which was initiated by the Producer’s Council. The first film to go on floor was the Karunas’ starrer Ragalaipuram. FEFSI’s next move is awaited.
