The Tamil film industry continues to suffer even as the war rages on between FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) and TFPC (Tamil Film Producers Council) with no peaceable resolution in sight. FEFSI wanted to hold talks but TFPC has turned them down citing a court order that has forbidden any such discussion till April 13th.
FEFSI has announced an indefinite strike and the TFPC have retaliated by launching the Tamil Nadu Film Employees Welfare Association to be headed by RK Selvamani, Bharathiraja and T Rajendar. The new association will support the workers without resorting to strong - arm tactics and blackmail, representatives said. Shooting has resumed for films like Karthi's Alex Pandian and Karunas's Ragalaipuram with police protection. The situation is fraught with tension as FEFSI is likely to retaliate.
