This remake banks heavily on the comic timing and dialogue delivery of Mirchi Shiva and he has done complete justice to his role. Prakash Raj, Isha Talwar, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan complete the star cast.
There is still some steam left in Thillu Mullu albeit the shows are reduced to give way for Singam 2’s release. On the whole, the movie has been able to break even in the four weeks of its run and is a safe bet for all its stakeholders.
Shiva has a couple of interesting movies lined up.

The remake of the same movie from the 80s, Thillu Mullu has Shiva reprising the role immortalized by Rajinikanth. Prakash Raj, Isha Talwar, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan complete the star cast.
From the looks of it, Thillu Mullu doesn’t seem to be putting up a neck-to-neck fight with TVSK. But that’s not to say, the movie’s business is anything to complain about. Theatres are clocking in above average attendance.
Shiva’s comic timing and Prakash Raj’s nuanced acting are the highlights.

The rehash of the Hindi cult hit Golmaal, that was remade in the 1980s in Tamil with Superstar Rajini in the lead, Thillu Mullu has an interesting star cast of Shiva, Prakash Raj, Isha Talwar, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan.
Opening weekend has been encouraging and reviews have been decent. Above average attendance reported in the theatres.
Prakash Raj’s reprisal of Thengai Srinivasan is restrained while Kovai Sarala’s shrilly antics are over-the-top yet entertaining to an extent.
