''CHOREOGRAPHING FOR A DANCER LIKE VIJAY WAS VERY CHALLENGING''

Theri, written and directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, featuring Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson in the lead roles has created a hype through its teaser that was recently launched. 

 

Sherif, who has choreographed for songs in films like Soodhu Kavvum, Trisha Illana Nayanthara and Raja Rani seems to have done three songs for Theri out of which one will be a montage featuring the male and female leads, another song will also be a montage which will be featuring Vijay and baby Nainika and the third song is expected to be a dance number starring Vijay and Amy Jackson which has been shot in an erected set. The team appears to have shot the songs in both Chennai and Goa.

 

The song, being Amy's first full length dance number, had her working very hard and taking up enough rehearsals before the shoot, whereas Vijay, as always, amazed everyone by learning and performing on the spot, says the choreographer. He also admits that choreographing for a dancer like Vijay was very challenging.

 

"For the other song, when Vijay had to match his steps to Meena's daughter, Nainika, he was very patient and also co-operated to underplay. The father and daughter got along so well behind the lens", he adds.

 

Having said that, this is the first time Sherif has choreographed in a movie for a kid and he is anticipated to have undergone some toiling for that.
