ANTHOLOGY? APPDINA?!!?

Anthology is a genre under which a number of short stories are compiled together and presented as a single  package. There have been a number of foreign films under this genre and in recent times this genre is slowly being introduced in India. 5 Sundarigal in Malayalam is one such Indian film which falls exclusively under this category.

Director Karthik Subbaraj produced the film Bench Talkies: The First Bench last year which was his first attempt at anthology. The film which was released in select theatres got encouraging reviews and has led the director to produce another such anthology titled Aviyal which is all set for release in India and the US on March 11th.
 

The film has many celebrities such as Nivin Pauly, Bobby Simha and Arjunan Nandakumar playing vital roles in it. Here’s what some of these celebrities wanted to say about Aviyal:
 

“Aviyal is going to be a fun-ride of stories with a weirdly sensible humor touch throughout. When the movie ends, you'll surely wish if it had run for some more time”, Karthik Subbaraj.
 

“Aviyal is an anthology film that's going to be a fun roller-coaster ride for the audience”, Nivin Pauly.

“Every film wants to be different in some way. Aviyal was MADE to be a 'very different film' and we have taken an exciting-humor mode to show that difference”, Bobby Simha.

It will be interesting to see how our audiences are going to receive this genre which has been successful elsewhere.
