'WHY THIS KOLAVERI' BECOMES THE HIGHEST WATCHED!

November 16^th, 2011 was just another day in the calendar, but it had turned out to be a historic moment for team 3. The Aishwarya Dhanush directed love story demanded a track from Anirudh Ravichander, the newly launched music director. Meant to be a soup song, the soft-folk composition with mild thavil rolls and tape beats to accompany Dhanush’s voice, 'Why This Kolaveri' was ready to hit the world with simple lyrics i.e. a Tamilian’s emotion in English.

Written by Dhanush himself, ‘Why this Kolaveri’ was one of its kind for its lyrics used. Pianos, Shenai, soulful interludes, enterprising voice and catchy lyrics were enough to take the world by a storm. There were numerous fan made versions of the song and even a foreigner wanted it to be played at his wedding.

Thanks to Sony Music, the audio label, the song had a YouTube soft launch without any fuss. Now, the very same song that came into existence 4 years back still hasn’t faded away. ‘Why this Kolaveri’ becomes the highest watched Indian video in YouTube nearing a total view count of 10 crores (100 million).
 

Such a miraculous feat is still a dream for others. We heartily wish the team, which entertained us with such a song.
