MAGNIFICENT DAY FOR MAMMOOTTY!

Mammootty, the Megastar who started his film journey in 1971 in the Malayalam film Anubhavangal Paalichakal directed by KS Sethumadhavan has come a long way traversing more than four decades of performing in all the south Indian languages in addition to Bollywood.

The seasoned actor has won the National Award thrice and also plenty of other awards with more than 350 films under his belt.

Today the 7^th of September, the handsome star celebrates his birthday and as someone who is socially conscious and responsible, has joined an initiative with ophthalmologist Dr Tony Fernandes of Kochi to make Kerala a cataract free state by 2020. Under the 'Vision 2020' project which is titled Kaazhcha (Sight), it is reported that over 5,000 people have been screened so far and around 800 people have undergone free cataract surgery since last year. This indeed is a noble act!
