''IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE IN ITSELF WORKING WITH THE LIKES OF BOBBY SIMHAA AND SHIVA''

Debutant Gaurav is really excited about making an entry into Tamil Cinema. He plays the lead in the upcoming Tamil movie, Avam, directed by Vijay Vilvakrish. Gaurav, a true blue Chennaite is an engineer by profession, quit a corporate job in Mumbai and came back to Chennai to debut as a hero in Avam.

 

Talking about the movie Avam, "It all happened very quick, I had no idea I would be an actor when I was working in Mumbai. Vijay Vilvakrish who happens to be my good friend from school happened to travel to Mumbai on work and we just spoke about the movie that he was planning on making, eventually landing on to the point where he asked me if I wanted to try auditioning for the lead. And then in no time we were in the process of film making."

 

Kavya Shetty plays the lead opposite Gaurav in Avam and the movie also stars debutantes Vivek Lester Uthup, Karthik Vilvakrish & Kajal Vasisht along with renowned artists MS Bhaskar, Livingston, Anupama Kumar playing other important roles. "Shooting for Avam was really enjoyable as most of the crew were young, we were all comfortable working with each other and we all gelled well as a team." said Gaurav.

 

Gaurav has also just completed filming his second film ‘Masala Padam’ as one of the lead actors along with Bobby Simhaa and Shiva. Masala Padam is directed by cinematographer-turned-director Laxman.

 

During the final schedule of shooting Avam, Gaurav had the opportunity to audition for 'Masala Padam'. Here's what Gaurav had to say about Masala Padam "The very first minute when Laxman sir mentioned Bobby Simhaa and Shiva were part of the project I was like 'When are we shooting?'. Laxman sir was really cool headed, he gave me the full bound script of the movie to read through and I was more than happy to learn about the character that I was going to play."

 

"It was an experience in itself working with such talented and famed artists in my second project. Every single minute was educating me and it was a learning experience. I totally enjoyed the journey. It was great working with Laxman sir's lively team".

 

Gaurav is presently in discussions with a few production houses and is keeping his fingers crossed as both 'Avam' and 'Masala Padam' are coming out to theatres this summer. Here’s wishing the young actor the very best and a successful ride ahead in Tamil Cinema!
