On the lines of Ai, Vallinam, Eetti…

All of a sudden, Tamil cinema seems to have found an interest in sports. Ethir Neechal and Sundattam were the recent movie in this genre and the upcoming list includes Arivazhagan’s Vallinam and Atharva starrer Eetti. Shankar’s Ai is also speculated to have athletics as its core subject.
 

Another movie on the same line will be Irumbu Kuthirai, which is based on bike racing and stunts. Featuring Atharvaa Murali and Priya Anand in the lead, 80% of the movie has been canned already. Also starring Johnny Tri Nguyen of 7aum Arivu fame, major portions of the film was shot in Chennai, Pondy and Italy.

The team is planning to complete the film next month and release it in May. GV Prakash has composed 5 numbers for the movie.
 

Talking about Irumbu Kuthirai, the director of the movie, Yuvaraj Bose says, “Bike racing and stunts are the themes of the movie. Atharva plays a racer and Priya plays a medical student. Atharva’s attempt to impress Priya Anand leads him to a series of happenings, which forms the whole movie. William Ong has choreographed all the bike sequences and we have also shot in some exotic locales in Italy, where the Casino Royale was shot. We have also roped in a few techies, who worked on that James Bond movie.”
