Will the Dhanush - Vetri Maaran duo strike gold at the National Awards again?

The celebrated Aadukalam team of lead hero Dhanush, director Vetri Maaran and DOP Velraj is back together again on a new project which is tentatively titled Soodhattam. The filming of this movie began a few days back and Dhanush's Wunderbar Films is bankrolling this film, as well as Velraj's debut directorial venture, Velai Illa Pattadhari. 

 

Velraj in a recent interview was asked if he regretted missing out on the National Award for cinematography in 2011, when the Aadukalam team had picked up 6 other National Awards. 

 

"If the movie hadn't won a single award, then I would have had a reason to be sad. The committee at Delhi, which decides the awards may have spotted some drawbacks in my work. Errors which may miss the common man's eye can be spotted by the committee. Anyway, the same team is now back to work on Vetri Maaran's new movie. I am optimistic that we can pick up the awards that we missed last time around.", says an optimistic Velraj.
