Will Murugadoss take up his Ajith special, 'Thala' next ?

Director A.R.Murugadoss is one among the few directors who has a strong nationwide appeal. He is currently involved in Vijay's next film and is also gearing up for the release of Thuppakki's Hindi remake, Holiday with Akshay Kumar. Earlier in his career, he also directed Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi in the movie Stalin, which was recently remade by Salman Khan in Hindi as Jai Ho. 

 

Recently, Murugadoss was in Hyderabad regarding the release of the Telugu dubbed version of Raja Rani and is reported to have expressed an interest to do a straight Telugu action film next year with either Ram Charan Teja or Mahesh Babu. Murugadoss is also apparently a big Mahesh Babu fan. 

 

When we contacted a source close to the ace director, he denied any such development and said that the director's next would be a Tamil movie. This little birdie also told us that Murugadoss has plans of furthering the script for a film, titled 'Thala', that he had written exclusively for Ajith. There were some murmurs in the media about this film few months back, but eventually Murugadoss went on to start another film with his Thuppakki hero Vijay.

 

Given his demand across the country, we are not sure when the director would start work on 'Thala', which would see his reunion with his first 'Dheena' hero. It must also be noted that it was Murugadoss who first gave the moniker 'Thala' to Ajith in Dheena and it has stuck on to the star ever since.

 

As we have already reported extensively, Ajith's name has already been linked to directors such as Shankar and K.V.Anand for prospective future films, after the one that he will be starting soon with Gautham Menon. Now, the buzz surrounding his reunion with Murugadoss is also starting to crop up.

 

There has been no official confirmation whatsoever from Ajith's side about his future moves after the Gautham Menon film, but speculations about the star's upcoming films always seem to do the rounds.
