Trisha begins with a Mahesh Babu remake

Trisha has had a golden run in the South Indian film industry over the past 11 years or so and she has notched up many successes with all the big stars in Tamil and Telugu. She also made her Hindi debut with Akshay Kumar's Khatta Meeta but the film didn't work out well for the pretty woman.

Now, the superstar is set to make her debut in the neighboring Kannada industry, referred to as Sandalwood. She will be paired opposite Karnataka's Power Star, Puneet Rajkumar, in the remake of the 2011 Telugu blockbuster Dookudu which featured Mahesh Babu and Samantha. Madesh will be directing this Kannada remake on a grand budget. Trisha expressed her happiness at making her start in Karnataka with a little message in her Twitter space
