Krrish 3 takes a flying start as expected

The third installment of the popular Krrish franchise released on November 1, a day prior to Diwali and the film has been making merry at the box-office ever since. Though the film was received with mixed reviews, the general public seems to have taken a real liking to the film, particularly the kids and family audiences.

The domestic box-office break-up of the film inclusive of its Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions, is as follows

Friday - 25.5 crores, Saturday - 23 crores and Sunday - 24.3 crores.

The total 3 day net comes to 72.8 crores and this is a fabulous figure considering the Diwali festivities, a thrilling Ind - Aus cricket match and the myriad entertainment options on TV. The contribution of the Hindi original version is expected to be more than 68 crores and it is the second biggest opener of the year, after Chennai Express.

Hrithik Roshan has struck gold with his Krrish avatar yet again and the film is sure to surpass the collections of his previous blockbuster, Agneepath. Director Rakesh Roshan has proved that he is indeed among the most consistent and bankable directors in the country.
