Happy Birthday to the multifaceted Lingusamy

Ace director Lingusamy, who is always young at heart and brimming with youthful ideas, celebrates his 46th birthday today - a day that also happens to be Children's Day. 

After making his debut in 2001 with the highly acclaimed family drama Aanandham, Lingusamy soon found his image as an exciting director with the ability to put out riveting action scripts. Films like Run, Sandakozhi, Paiyaa and Vettai have only reaffirmed his ability in this format.

But Lingusamy has not confined himself just to direction and has grown as a renowned industry personality with his other passions. As a producer, his banner Thirrupathi Brothers has delivered some of Tamil cinema's most memorable films of late such as the hard hitting National Award winner Vazhakku En 18/9 and the unique and poignant Kumki to name a few. His upcoming films as a producer are highly anticipated since one of the projects, 'Utthama Villain' features Kamal Hassan in the lead.

As a director, Lingusamy will be kickstarting his first schedule with Suriya and Samantha for the yet to be titled film in a couple of days. The unit had just completed the first look photoshoot of the film. Expectedly, this film is likely to be a racy action entertainer.

Besides his film interests, Lingusamy has always nurtured a penchant for poetry and art and has released a book featuring a compilation of his works.
