Producer Shibhu Thameens of Thameens Films is popular amidst leading heroes in Tamil. The banner is one of the leading distributors of Tamil films in Kerala. They have also  recently acquired the rights for Vijay’s upcoming film Thalaivaa just as they did with Thuppaki and Vikram’s Bheema and Kanthasamy in the past. The Thameens also share a very close personal relationship with Chiyaan VIkram and Vijay’s family.

In their maiden production venture, ABCD, they have made it a point to thank Vijay and S.A. Chandrasekhar in the title card. ABCD, American Born Confused Desi, stars Mammooty’s son Dulquer Salmaan who is one the rising stars of the industry. This film is being promoted and screened in an unprecedented scale compared to the young actor’s previous releases.

Despite the heavy rains in Kerala the film has received a healthy box office report and is now being released in other parts outside Kerala. ABCD is directed by Martin Prakkat and has music by Gopi Sunder.
