Actor Siddharth who put his boyish looks to good use in his last Tamil outing Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi, is reportedly playing a totally different role in Deepa Mehta’s Midnight Children.

The young actor was reportedly thrilled at being offered the role but supposedly got cold feet when he learnt that Shriya Saran was playing his pair in the movie. Siddharth said that the reason for him to be alarmingly nervous was because Shirya’s character is apparently a highly intense one and he knew that he had to raise his own game to meet with her performance.

Midnight’s Children is based on a book written by Salman Rushdie and the film is expected to release in India in Feburary.
