Rajini asked me not to do the role in Enthiran – Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan enjoys an iconic stature in Indian film industry. Although he has made cameo appearances in some South films, the legendary actor is yet to appear in a full- fledged role in Tamil.

Hence answering this poser, in an interview to a leading National daily, on when he is planning to do a full-length role in a Tamil film, the Paa actor said that he was offered the villain role in Shankar’s Enthiran but when he discussed this with Superstar Rajinikanth, he advised him against taking up the role of a villain. Amitabh Bachchan says, “Rajini told me not to do the villain’s role in Enthiran.”

Amitabh Bachchan also stated that he has been telling his friends to offer him at least a passing shot in Tamil films but sadly it is not happening.

Let us hope that our directors hear this wish of Amitabh Bachchan and we get to see him in an interesting role in a Tamil film!
