Periyardasan, the renowned actor and director, who was introduced into movies through Karuthamma, breathed his last early this morning. The actor had been down with cancer and was admitted in a private hospital where he eventually lost his life.
 

His original name was Seshachalam. He changed his name to Periyardasan as he became a great follower of the principles of Periyar. It should also be noted that he had recently converted to Islam.
 

He has acted in movies like Aiya, Anandham and Amma Appa Chellam. The actor was last seen in Tamil Padam after which he was offered a role in Ajith’s Veeram. However, he could not commit himself to the movie because of his ill health.
