The multifaceted Kamal Haasan met the press earlier this afternoon to divulge more information on the sudden turn of events ahead of the worldwide release of Vishwaroopam, which has now been postponed to a later date. He was firm in establishing the fact that he will remain the sole decision maker on his film’s release date and he will announce the same soon.

Kamal asserted himself by saying that the film was his product and business and he has every right to explore options that are condusive for its favorable returns. He went on to assure that a DTH release will take place, and the details of its reschedule will be revealed by him in the coming days. He said he was also considering on having the DTH release on the same day as the theatrical release, which is a shift from the original plan that promoted the idea of a DTH premiere ahead of the theatrical release.

He also had a complimentary word on his fans, calling them patient and disciplined and requested that they should not be provoked. Kamal also revaled that he had sent out legal notices to 13 individuals who threatened to misuse the DTH screening of his film. While he said that he took the decision of postponing for personal reasons and for his own comfort and not due to external pressures, he was quick to add that he was let down by the industry but he will be readily accommodative if they return to support him.
