Starting from Kokila, every work of his is a master piece. He has won five National Awards, three Film Fare Awards and four State Awards for his works. He has also introduced few extraordinary directors like Bala, Vetri Maaran and ‘Katradhu Tamizh” Ram to the Tamil industry.
Yes, the legendary director Balu Mahendra, who has given some unforgettable classics like Moondram Pirai, Veedu, Sathi Leelavathi, Sandhya Ragam and Vanna Vanna Pookal turns 74 today.
