Thillu Mullu
Singers: M.S.Vishwanathan, Tha Prophecy, Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Vaali

The rock and roll guitar intro sets us up for this blast from the past. Yuvan strips down the tune and gives it a new twist with an upbeat drum track and quite guitars. Yuvan however uses the classic backing chorus arrangement from the original to great effect. MSV is not used as mere novelty as the song would be literally incomplete without his vocal contributions. Canadian rapper Tha Prophecy brings the edge and the change ups with his verses and his pre-chorus especially is cheerful and compliments the essence of the track.

Kaipesi En Kooda
Singers: Ranjith
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The repetitive note picking sets a good mood for a fine vocal melody takes centre stage. The vocals have a progression that tests the singer but Ranjith is up to the challenge. The soft nature of the song is shaken up with the entry of the strings which come in dramatically and sets up the song for more changes within.

Aaja Aaja
Singers: Haricharan, Priya Hemesh
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The track is built on a really nice synth groove. The sound feels like a hybrid between electronica and acoustic guitar rock. As expected from Yuvan the track is cut nicely with glossy production and vocal effects for the singers Haricharan and Priya Hemesh who both do a fine job.

Raagangal Pathinaru
Singers: Karthik
Lyrics: Kannadasan

Yuvan handles a classic tune with utmost care as he’s opted not to doctor much with it. Still the original MSV composition possesses a greater glory but the new version does enjoy a more crisp production. Karthik performs up to his potential without being weighed down by the fact of filling in SPB’s shoes.
