Just In: Thala Ajith books his date for Pongal 2014

Ajith's untitled film with Siruthai Siva has been confirmed to release for Pongal 2014, according to a press release from Vijaya Productions, the producers. This movie has been filmed at a really rapid pace and already 50 % of the movie has been canned. The producers are mighty pleased with the professionalism of the team.

Two songs were recently shot in Switzerland amid tough weather conditions and Ajith's co-operation has come in for much praise from the unit. Tamannah was also part of the shoots of these songs, composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Other than this, Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh has been host to a major part of the film's shoots till now.

Ajith's onscreen demeanor in this film will appeal to the rural masses, aver the producers and in all likelihood, it's going to be a Thala Pongal treat for the legions of Ajith fanatics. The other members in the cast include Santhanam, Bala, Vidharth, Munish, Suhail, Ramesh Kanna, Appukutty, Nadodigal Abhinaya, Manochithra, Suza Kumar, Elavarasu, Mayilsami, Periyardasan, Devadharshini, Vidhyulekha Raman, Crane Manohar and Pradeep Rawat

The technical crew of the film is as follows - Vetry is the cinematographer, Milan is the art director, Kasi Viswanathan is the editor, Selva is the stunt master and Dinesh is the choreographer.

It must be noted that Vijay's Jilla is also targeting a Pongal 2014 release and if this materializes, we will be having a Thala - Thalapathy clash at the box-office after many years. The last time that Ajith and Vijay released their movies on the same day, was way back for Pongal 2007. So, will history repeat itself?
