Suseenthiran’s follow up to his acclaimed comeback Aadhalal Kadhal Seiver is Pandianadu starring Vishal and Lakshmi Menon. The album features 5 songs and a couple of Karaoke tracks.

Yele Marudhu
Singers: Suraj Santhosh
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Flamenco styled guitars strewn all throughout the song adding good touches to this mid-tempo jam. The track sheds its bass driven groove to some interesting passages. The vocal melody is a fairly simple one but Suraj Santhosh’s involved singing makes it seem special.

Fy Fy Kalachify
Singers: Ramya Nambeesan
Lyrics: Madan Karky

Ramya Nambeesan doesn’t sound one bit like an actor attempting to sing and performs with excellent control and clarity. The idea behind the song is playful and Ramya exudes the right emotions. Imman uses what’s come to become his set of signature instruments and arranges them in a pretty exciting way. The orchestration ensures that there’s no room to ‘sodhapify’.

Verikonda Puli Ondru
Singers: Anand Aravindakshan
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

A brooding number which has emotions of revenge written all over it. The tense strings, the intense vocals by Anand Aravindakshan and Vairamuthu’s precise poetry ensure for the right ingredients. The packaging too is well done, but the song does seem to stretch on too long, which may be due to the visual demands.

Othakada Machan
Singers: Hariharasudan, Suraj Santhosh
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Again the familiar sounds of Imman ring through strongly in this track like the galloping percussions which takes centre stage here. The sounds of the horn and the prim too have come to become part of his arsenal. The vocal melody is ear-friendly and assumes a middle-eastern flavour in some passages. With the entry of the strings in the latter half, the melody is further enhanced. Both Suraj Santhosh and Hariharasudan deliver lively performances.

Dayare Dayare
Singers: Anthonydasan, Natraj, Pawan, Pazhaniyammal
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

A ‘happy’ song featuring folk specialist Anthonydasan and the genre is very much Imman’s playground and he toys around with the rhythm making it a feast of percussions. The singing in harmony adds a festive spirit along with the power packed percussions.

Verdict: Trademark Imman sounds packed with some amount of punch
