EXPECTATION METER

The prestigious Yash Raj film comes to Tamil for the first time with the remake of Band Bajaa Baraat which was a hit in Hindi that was about two wedding planners. In Tamil, Vani Kapoor and Nani will be reprising the role of Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma respectively.

Aaha Kalyanam is directed by debutant Gokul Krishna with Dharan scoring music and Loganathan Srinivasan helming the camera. Simran is playing a cameo with Badava Gopi and singer M J Sriram as supporting cast.

Gokul Krishna has quite a lot of good words about his producers Yash Raj Films and says, “They are too systematic and organized. Everything will be on paper before going on floors. There’s a proper work flow and process which makes film making easy."

The director reasons out why should one watch Aaha Kalyanam.

He says,

This is not just a movie on marriages. We show you how best to conduct marriages and celebrate it. Come into the theaters, laugh your lungs out, enjoy every bit of it, lose the stress and leave the hall entertained and with a broad smile.
The colors on screen will just steal your gaze.
Superb music! Dharan has given ten tracks and not a single song has been forced into the movie.
There is an overall freshness on screen, the costumes, the lights, grandeur and the new concept of wedding planning will bowl you out.
We have retained the concept from the original and brought in a lot of south Indian flavors to it. There are 23 different types of South Indian weddings in the movie.
The film might be a remake, but it is a proper Tamil movie. Even the nativity won’t be missing.
For a change, the hero will be very well dressed and groomed.
