There
are some movies that elevate the science of film making
more than the art. Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu is one of
those. The movie looked and felt very much like a
product straight out of Hollywood. Not just because
half of the movie was set in New York, but anyone
who has seen the movie (in theaters, not on pirated
VCDs and DVDs) will know that there is a definite
feel of sophistication from start to finish. The fight
sequences, especially the ones inside the villains’
apartment have amazing originality about them. The
film’s script was not without flaws, but it
will be remembered for enriching Tamil cinema with
its technical finesse. One of the sleekest introductions
Kamal had had in his career. Gautham and his crew
are behind it.
