This
movie made a big mockery of all the stone carved rules
of commercial cinema. No stars, no heroism, no serious
romance, very little sentiments and yet the movie
is running to packed houses. Revolving around a bunch
of guys ( loafers, if we can call them that) who do
nothing worthwhile but play gully cricket, Chennai
28 has proved to be the flag bearer of the new emerging
face of Tamil cinema. The movie should be applauded
for bringing to life an exciting new pool of youngsters
who are definitely faces to watch out for. Comedians
in Tamil cinema too are sure to receive stiff competition
from Premgi Amaran, his sense of timing is fantastic.
In short, Chennai 28 might just be the beginning of
a youth revolution in the industry.
