SS Rajamouli's Baahubali trailer review

Extravagance displayed smoothly in every shot, high-intensity performance by each actor, battleground shown in full power and SS Rajamouli's direction spilling out in the whole video - these are glimpses from the recently released trailer of Baahubali. Expectations for this film are very high across the entire nation as the movie is multilingual - Tamil, Hindi and Telugu along with the dubbed versions in Malayalam, English and French.

The trailer has crossed 2 million views in just about 30 hours of its release. What makes this so unique and different? The first half of this 2 minutes 6 seconds video shows the kingdom, the initial stages of Baahubali's reign, the realization of a supreme power destined in a key character and a few wide angle shots of Prabhas displaying his power.

The second half of the trailer has the introduction of Rana Daggubati riding a horse in full-swing, the omnipresent war field, the rampant kingdom getting wrecked and the two armies destroying each other violently.

While the mythological story of Baahubali in Jainism deals with the war between two step-brothers fighting for the kingdom, the story of the movie looks fictional and imaginative. The film also showcases a lot of rage, angst and clash of egos between the two important characters. With an extensive use of wide shots panning across the combat zone, close-ups of paramount emotions and top-notch detailed animation shown in important scenes, this trailer is technically brilliant.

Coming from a director like SS Rajamouli who is known for concoctions such as Yamadonga, Eega and Magadheera, Baahubali also looks like one of the extracts of his creative brain.
