The pre-release press meet of Kumki happened recently and the entire team was happy to address the media. The producer of Kumki, Lingusamy who welcomed the gathering, was enthusiastic in announcing how the Telugu actor, Prabhas was shocked to see the reception the Kumki trailer got in the theaters.
‘Prabhas was watching Thuppakki in Thenkasi and during the interval block the trailer of Kumki was screened. The audience went crazy and the theater resounded with cheers. Prabhas, who wasn’t aware of the film, asked his friend about it. When he came to know that it was the launch pad of Sivaji Ganesan’s grandson, Vikram Prabhu, he was thrilled too,” boasted Lingusamy.
Kumki’s lead actors Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon thanked Prabhu Solomon and everyone else who made the film possible and expressed their happiness in being a part of the wonderful team. They both also said how close they grew towards the elephant.
Prabhu Solomon wanted to clarify the opinion that has been formed in the industry about Kumki. “Everyone says I delayed the film. Well, that’s not true. The fact is that I took time to make the script perfect. Then, we had to wait for the perfect time to shoot, as that is what the story required,” said Prabhu Solomon.
His other reasons were- Vikram needed time to get trained to handle elephants. The visuals were so complex for the sound engineer that he had to go out into a forest and record the real sounds. It also takes a long time to create a paddy field or any field in that case.
However, the director is very happy with the outcome and is eager for its release that has been scheduled for December 14th.
