A.R.Murugadoss seems to be a director who gives importance to both the story and the hero of his film. In some cases, he readies the script and then deliberates on which hero to cast and in some other cases, he prepares a script keeping a specific actor in mind.
He says that he made Ramana specifically for Vijayakanth as he felt that this subject was perfect for the ‘larger than life’ mass image that Captain has. Ramana as we know is sort of a cult classic which released in 2002 and created a major impact for being a different kind of ‘vigilante’ movie.
