Kamal Haasan’s new revenue model is creating a huge buzz in the film industry. The former’s idea of releasing his film in DTH has earned both appreciation and disagreement. The appreciation is from the producers and the disagreement from the Tamil Theater Owners Association.
The fear among the Tamil Theater Owners Association is that the theaters might lose their customers. Though it will be a onetime release, what if the other producers release their films multiple times in the future, is what the Tamil Theater Owners Association officials are asking.
The producers, on the other hand have appreciated the idea big time. They have requested the theater owners to test the model for a couple of big films and see if there is any drop in the crowd. Few producers even feel that there is no chance of theaters facing a loss.
The call is now Kamal’s to take. It is said that the actor has approached Chief Minister to help him sort out the issue.
