BAAHUBALI SMASHES THE PREMIERE RECORD BY A HUGE MARGIN

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali has finally released after all the hype, hoopla and extensive marketing wave. All early reviews have unanimously praised the film's technicalities with the visuals and VFX work earning mentions such as 'world class' and 'best in the country'. The film is expected to smash box-office opening records and it has already done so with its premieres in the US for the Telugu version.

 

From 118 screens (locations), the film has grossed more than 1 million USD from the premiere shows. The previous record (Telugu) for maximum premiere gross in the US was held by Mahesh Babu's Aagadu with a gross 523,000 USD from 114 screens. Baahubali has grossed twice as much and this is remarkable indeed.

 

If early signs from the premieres are anything to go by, we can expect many more box-office records to be bested. New benchmarks are waiting to be set.
