After having been wrapped up a long while ago, Veppam seems to have had issues with release dates and things associated with it. Fortunately, things are on track now and the Anjana Ali Khan directed action thriller is being released this weekend.

Anjana hails from the Gautham Menon stable with hands-on expertise in advertising. Having assisted Gautham in many of his movies, Anjana is rising to the directorial bait with Veppam - that is made in a modest budget with a modest star cast. The movie is produced by Gautham's Photon Kathaas and R S Infotainment.

Veppam stars Karthik Kumar, Nani, Bindu Madhavi and Nithya Menon in lead roles and is set against the backdrop of Chennai slums. It follows the lives of two boys and a girl and is shot in less than 50 days. Shot mostly in and around Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, Veppam is also dubbed and released simultaneously in Telugu as Sega.

Joshua Sridhar's music for Veppam has yielded 7 tracks for the movie, sung by a bunch of perky singers - new and old. Released last year, Veppam's songs have already gained recognition and are in the top of the charts for an extended period of time.
