Theneer Viduthi is music composer, SS Kumaran’s debut film as director. He had delivered hit tunes in movies like Poo, Kalavani and Nellu and is trying his hand at film direction. Theneer Viduthi is going to be a love story set against a village backdrop. It is being touted as a film that has handled its script in a fresh and innovative way.
It has become the norm to handle village subjects in a gritty and realistic manner, which usually means shooting in a dull setting with faded colors and a grainy look. But Theneer Viduthi will seek to capture the beauty of the country side and its beautiful soul. The story will play out against a rustic milieu but the romance between the protagonists promises to be unlike anything that the audience has seen before. The manner in which the proposal comes about is said to be the highlight of the film and is likely to be a major selling point.
Aadith and Reshmi Menon will play the leads in Theneer Viduthi. The duo was seen in Inidhu Inidhu, where they played cool college kids. In this film, their characters and look will be completely different. Aadith plays a laborer whereas Reshmi will be a salesgirl in a store. Both of them are keen to establish themselves in the industry and it will be interesting to see if they have what it takes to make it to the big league. Kodumudi, Swetha, and Prabhakar also have good roles in this film.
The comic interludes in the film are supposed to add to the charm and entertainment aspects of the film. Music by SS Kumaran is also a plus with the composer having created some melodious numbers. The film had its audio launch recently and the music was well received. There are only three short songs in the film. The reason for this is simple; the songs will serve to capture the mood without actually disrupting the narrative. This sounds good to us!
Produced by Anusha Devi, this film will attempt to target a universal audience as there is a little something for everybody. Theneer Viduthi seeks to entertain and will make a serious attempt to do so. This makes it very promising indeed.
