The shooting of Karuna’s film, Chandamama, at Puducherry has been stalled due to an unprecedented agitation by the people. The team was shooting in a park near the secretariat and a mob including students came to the spot asking the crew to stop the shooting with immediate effect. The people were upset over the relief work after the Thane cyclone. They alleged that Kollywood stars extended their support to the TN govt and completely ignored Puducherry. An irked mob said that Kollywood is using Puducherry as a shooting spot to make money.  Later, police arrested 15 people in connection with the agitation.

The film Chandamama stars Shwetha Somu in the female lead.
