The decision on the new trend of releasing films in DTH, introduced by Kamal Haasan, is expected today. The actor recently released an audio statement on how the model works. According to him, this trend will help good films reach more people.
He also says that this model is for those very rich people who never come to the cinema theater. “Watching my film in television will not give them the satisfaction of watching it in theaters and logically speaking, I have exploited high-end technologies like Auro 3D surround sound to attract more people to cinema theaters,” reasoned Kamal.
Considering that only 3% of the Tamil Nadu population has DTH services at home, there wouldn’t be any drop in the number of theater audiences, says he.
The Service providers have fixed on Rs 1000 for watching the film once and it will be un-recordable.
