Ashutosh Gowariker established a prominent position in world cinema for his classical works. His yesteryear magnum opus ‘Lagaan’ turned the global spotlights while ‘Jodha Akbar’ was acclaimed as a masterpiece for his newfangled narration. But on contrary, the filmmaker’s following film ‘What’s Your Raashee?’ turned out to be a box office disaster. It is a well known fact that the film was based on Madhu Rye’s novel ‘Kimball Ravenswood’. Unfortunately, the originality was lost as Ashu made some changes from novel including the climax. Realizing his blunders, the filmmaker has strictly adhered to novel and hasn’t made any changes in screenplay and characterizations. His upcoming release ‘Khelein Hum Ji Jaan Se’ is based on the Manini Chatterjee’s ‘Do and Do: The Chittagong Uprising'. Abhishek Bachchan mentions that delineation on complete event of Chittagong Uprising itself is engrossing and so Ashutosh didn’t opt for any changes.
