I recently watched Yuvan Yuvathi mainly because I was totally attracted to the name and secondly, because of its catchy posters. I can only say I was going through a severe headache watching the movie. Touted to be a Romantic Comedy, it did have some interesting moments with Santhanam in the backdrop. But, where is the Romance???? Fact being, Santhanam, nowadays has become the saving grace for such movies that lacks the most basic thing for a movie - Plot. A Zero chemistry between Bharath and Rima Kallingal not only affects the screenplay but, also the whole movie watching experience and you feel like "Off all the movies, why did I opt for this one??". Songs set to tune by Vijay Antony aren't captivating and are just thrown here and there to damage an already good - for - nothing movie. Sampath also gives a disappointing show as Bharath's father. If Aaranya Kaandam raised him to the summit, Yuvan Yuvathi just makes him tumble down the mountain. Finally, Yuvan Yuvathi is a movie that has all the usual ingredients of a passable entertainer and has nothing new to offer. Skip it and you miss nothing. Prithvikanth pritz.bhas@gmail.com
