VELAIYILLA PATTATHARI MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

National Award winner Dhanush scales a new high in Tamil cinema with Velai Illa Pattathari (VIP) as it marks the silver jubilee of the versatile hero. Cinematographer Velraj forays into direction for the first time in VIP where Amala Paul plays Dhanush’s love interest. Supporting cast is played by Saranya and Samuthirakani among others

 

Dhanush’s home production, Wunderbar films is launching new talents in the form of editor, stunt director and a couple of new faces.

 

Talking exclusively to Behindwoods, Dhanush said, “Initially I did not realize that Velai Illa Pattathari would be my 25th movie. When it did, I decided to produce the film myself.”

 

He added, “Velai Illa Pattathari is about a very passionate civil engineer, who is waiting for the right opportunity. Unlike me, the real Dhanush, the character I play in VIP knows what he wants to be and where his interest lies. Whereas, in real life, I didn’t realize that I belonged in cinema. Cinema found me and gave me this life.”

 

“I believe current generation engineers and ambitious youngsters will relate to the film,” assures Dhanush.

 

Under Anirudh’s music, 2 songs have been sung by Dhanush and 3 by Anirudh. Veteran singer S Janaki has rendered a number with Dhanush who has also penned the lyrics.

 

Dhanush sports a six pack abs for a sequence. About that, Dhanush frankly pointed out, “Although, my six pack abs is not really part of the script, it was added to create curiosity among the audience, to invoke whistles and applause. As an artiste it is my duty to give my best to entertain the audience.”

 

Escape Artists Motion Pictures' P Madan will distribute the movie in Tamil Nadu and he has planned the biggest release yet for Dhanush.
