THILAGAR SONGS REVIEW

A peculiar folk number with Haricharan’s passionate voice marks the beginning of the album. Interesting chord progression and Ghatam percussions adds much to the composition. Neat string section creates a feel good ambience throughout. 

A punchy composition with a blend of folk and modern rock. It is Shankar Mahadevan’s show all the way. The track carries a good undercurrent energy and macho flavor.  

A short melancholic solo with eerie orchestration which has the typical trance like feel.  Chinna Ponnu’s earthly voice takes the track to an emotional hilt. 

Striking composition with angered chord progression and the vocals suiting rightfully to the mood. The track is interestingly based on Carnatic Raaga Revathy- which has the knack of expressing difficult emotions. 

It is time for a typical rustic kuthu number in the midst of captivating rhythm section and feel good modern chord progression.  The vocalists take the front seat with ease and give an interesting direction to the composition.

Another aggressive number with heavy laden rhythm section and energetic renditions arrives next. The track strangely carries a philosophical dimension which is quite intriguing. Nevertheless, it goes in the repetitive fashion with stumbled progress.

The eeriest composition of the album arrives again in the rustic voice of Padayappa Sriram. However, the orchestration remains same as the previous version. 

The album comes to a finale with the melancholic solo in the voice of Srinivas. He gives a mellowed effect to the composition with his velvety voice.
