Vijay does it again 18 years later?

During Thuppakki’s release certain Islamic sections had raised objections with some content in the film alleging that it presented their community in bad light. Corrective measures were immediately taken and additionally Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrasekhar, had hinted that Vijay would play a Muslim character in the future to show his support to the community.

That move may well come true in his upcoming film Jilla. Shooting spot scenes reveal cast members who play Vijay’s siblings sporting the traditional Muslim outfit. Vijay too has been sporting a cool trimmed beard which does throw more light on the new look that the director promised during the early stages of production.

If this turns out the way it is expected, this could be the second time in his career that Vijay is playing a Muslim character after the 1995 flick Chandralekha, in which he played a character by the name Rahim.
