A cheery and upbeat tune with boyish lyrics that reflect the joys of youth. Musically the song opens with a build-up of percussions that lead into the vocals – the duties shared by Tippu, Rahul and Sunandan who deliver an enjoyable performance in harmony. The song does have its share of catchy moments even if it’s through ‘made-up’ words. James Vasanthan peppers this song with some neat guitar solos and uses a stop-start to good effect.

James Vasanthan’s biggest claim to fame musically would have to be the superb ‘Kangal Irandal’ from Subramaniapuram, so it may not be uncommon for music lovers to expect a track in that vein and this track might prove to be a fair response to that demand. The song has good resemblance to the aforementioned song in terms of composition style, groove and overall feel. Of course the melodies are entirely original and it’s beautifully rendered by Bellie Raj and Deepa Miriam.

While the tune might work in parts, the song is let down by the lyrics which seem to comprise of a series of unrelated words just to satisfy the rhyme scheme. While this may not be new to Tamil cinema, the uninspiring word play is fairly consistent throughout the song which is a bit irksome. Mathangi delivers what is required of her while much more is expected of lyricist Pa. Vijay.  

This is a guitar driven pop tune that lives up to and delivers all the mushiness that the title suggests. James Vasanthan keeps the hooks simple and straightforward and makes it easy for the tune to register with the listener. Both Suchitra and Prasad emote excellently with their vocals and contribute heavily to the song’s feel-good-factor.

The much talked about hard-rock song in the film is racy and promising. The song’s rhythm and groove does carry a resemblance to the popular rock song ‘Bhaag DK Bose’ from Delhi Belly and also to Iron Maiden’s ‘The Trooper’ especially when the vocals kick in. But the singers Gerard Johnson and Maya give the song its own life with their performance. Gerard especially rocks out with his vocals. The song has its highlights with the chorus and the twin lead guitar solos.
