TAMIL MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

Do you remember the cute twin-kids in Bombay who played the sons of Arvind Swamy and Manisha Koirala? Well they have grown up now obviously and one of them, Hridayaraaj, is debuting as a lead in Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal, directed by Venky. Venky is a television director who has directed numerous reality shows, short films and documentaries to his credit.

Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal is Venky’s debut as a director in big screen and the movie is a romantic comedy, he says. The movie is about ‘love and its after-effects,’ to quote him – a theme that has become a fad in recent days in Tamil movies with the success of Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi.

Although supposed to be a short-term venture, the movie was wrapped in mid last year and has been whiling in the cans for more than a year now. Other than Hriday, KKKK has Aditi, Revathi Menon and Nassar playing the lead roles.

Phani Kalyan, who is one of the students of A.R.Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory, scores for the movie. KKKK is produced by Ganeswar Tripathy and Venky. Whether the movie will stick to the time and tested rules of romantic comedies in Tamil cinema or will it break the mould and try something different will only be known after its release. But this is a good time for small time indie movies, so it’s safe to say that the movie stands a fair chance at the box office.
