TAMIL MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

Karthi is fast carving a niche for himself with action mass masala entertainers. After Siruthai and Saguni, his Pongal release Alex Pandian will also carefully tread the potboiler genre of films. Directed by Suraj, whose earlier movies Padikkathavan and Mappillai borrowed titles of Rajini movies of yore, Alex Pandian has Karthi and Anushka playing the lead.

The movie has Santhanam, Nikhita Thukral, Sanusha, Milind Soman and Suman. Alex Pandian is also released in Telugu as Bad Boy owing to Karthi's popularity in Tollywood. Devi Sri Prasad composes music for the film and his song Bad Boy has already become popular in television channels and FM stations.

Touted to be an action-comedy, the movie's highlights include the Karthi - Santhanam combo that never fail to bring the roof down with its comedy antics and Anushka's pairing with Karthi and DSP's songs. Named after a character from Rajini's hit movie Moondru Mugam, Alex Pandian is produced by Gnanavelraja for Studio Green. The movie's distribution rights are with Vendhar movies.

Earlier supposed to be released on Saturday, 12th of this month, the distributors seem to have had a change in their decision. Posters announcing the release of the movie a day in advance, on 11th, are out. Alex Pandian will serve as a Pongal treat for Karthi fans.
