24 was a daring and experimental expedition by Suriya. It was a huge gamble to make an expensive time travel film in Tamil. Projects like 24 help to widen the scope for storytellers in our industry. Now to their delight, the film has won 2 National Awards, 1 each for cinematography and Production Design.

An elated Rajsekarpandian speaks to Behindwoods about 24’s double treat at the National Awards 2017. “24 was an ambitious project that we took over. Suriya was so excited when he first heard the script from Vikram Kumar and immediately he said he would produce it. It was an uphill task to finalize on the technical team, but it so happened that we got an amazing crew working for us. Everything together totally changed the colour of the film. Glad that we were able to bring out 80% of the director’s vision on screen.

Both the cinematography and the production design team helped us a lot to bring the script to the screen. We are proud to have produced 24. Good work has been recognized. Every technician gives his 100% for every film of his, but in 24 everyone took, a special care and it was created with a lot of love. 24 is a pet project for us, and when it is recognized with 2 National Awards, it is really a proud moment for us.”
