No new Malayalam releases in certain Multiplexes in Kerala from today (19th May) onwards. A certain group of distributors has decided to withhold from releasing Malayalam movies Godha, Adventures of Omanakuttan and Achayans in Multiplexes like PVR Cinemas, Cinepolis and Inox. They have also decided to withdraw the ongoing screening of Baahubali (Malayalam), The Great Father, Take Off, Ramante Edanthottam.
This unprecedented turn of events is due to a disagreement on the division of shares between the distributors and Multiplexes. It has affected the large scale release of the three movies scheduled to release today on a wide scale. Godha and Achayans were first planned to release on May 12th and had postponed the release date due to unavailability of quality theaters.
