Sathyaraj made a controversial statement nearly nine years ago on Cauvery water dispute. His statement didn't go well with pro-Kannadigas and Kannada activists who have now decided to stall all his films in Karnataka and targeted an intense dislike in releasing Baahubali-2.

The issue grabbed a lot of attention and it was then director SS Rajamouli himself came forward and made an emotional statement and requested the public from Karnataka to support Baahubali 2.
